Commercial Concrete Contractor in Columbia, MO

Slabs, parking areas, sidewalks, curbs, docks and ADA upgrades — phased so your business keeps operating while we work.

Commercial Concrete Contracting in Columbia, MO

Commercial concrete is a different job from residential work — not because the material changes, but because everything around it does. You are working around an operating business, to a spec, on a schedule, with inspections and accessibility requirements attached. We pour slabs, parking areas, sidewalks, curbs, loading docks and ADA upgrades for businesses, churches, schools and property managers across Columbia and Mid-Missouri.

Commercial pours get sequenced around your operating hours wherever the work allows it.

What We Pour for Commercial Clients

  • Slabs and building pads — new construction, additions and equipment pads poured to engineered spec
  • Parking lots and drive aisles — concrete paving, striping layout coordination and proper drainage fall
  • Sidewalks and walkways — public-facing concrete built to correct width, slope and joint spacing
  • Curbs, gutters and islands — formed and poured to grade for drainage that actually works
  • Loading docks and aprons — thickened, reinforced slabs built for truck traffic and repeated point loading
  • ADA access upgrades — ramps, landings, detectable warning surfaces and curb cuts at compliant slopes
  • Steps, stairs and entry landings — including replacement of settled or spalled existing work
  • Trash enclosure pads and service areas — built for the loads that actually land on them

Working Around an Operating Business

The concrete is rarely the hard part of a commercial job. Keeping a parking lot usable while half of it is torn out, maintaining accessible routes to the entrance, staging materials where they are not in the way, and getting a pour cured before Monday morning — that is the part that takes planning. We phase the work so you keep operating, and where the job allows we schedule pours for evenings, weekends or slow periods.

You will get a realistic schedule up front. If a section of your lot needs to be closed for seven days to cure properly, we will tell you that before you sign rather than after we have started.

ADA compliance is not optional — and it is easy to get wrong

Ramp slope, landing dimensions, cross-slope on accessible routes, and the transitions at curb cuts all have specific requirements, and a ramp poured at the wrong slope has to be torn out. We build accessible routes to spec the first time. If your existing entry, ramp or parking access has drifted out of compliance as the concrete has settled, that is a common and very fixable problem — we do a lot of it.

Repair, Replacement and Trip Hazards

A great deal of commercial concrete work is remediation rather than new construction. Sidewalk panels that have heaved or settled into a trip hazard, spalled entry steps, cracked dock aprons, curb sections broken by plow damage. Beyond the liability, these are the things customers notice about a property.

We assess whether a panel can be ground or mudjacked back into tolerance or whether it needs cutting out and replacing, and we are straight about which. On a public walkway, a repair that leaves a lip is not a repair.

Who We Work With

  • Retail, restaurant and office property owners and managers
  • Churches and institutional properties — entries, walkways, parking and accessibility work
  • Schools and campus facilities
  • Warehouse and light industrial — slabs, docks and equipment pads
  • HOAs and multifamily property managers
  • General contractors needing a concrete sub on a Mid-Missouri project

Why a Local Contractor

Mid-Missouri conditions decide how commercial concrete performs. Freeze-thaw cycling spalls a slab that was finished wrong or sealed late. Expansive clay subgrade moves under a poorly prepared pad. Winter salt attacks concrete that was not air-entrained properly. And on a commercial property, failures are not just cosmetic — a heaved sidewalk panel is a liability claim waiting to happen.

We are based at 1310 E Prathersville Rd in Columbia and work throughout Boone County plus Jefferson City, Fulton, Ashland, Boonville and the surrounding communities. We also handle commercial retaining walls and site hardscaping, so grading, walls and flatwork can be one contract rather than three.

Commercial Concrete FAQs

Can you work outside business hours?
Where the job allows it, yes — evenings, weekends and slow periods. Concrete has its own timeline for placing, finishing and curing, so not every pour can be squeezed into a night. We will lay out what is realistic at the bid stage.
Do you bid from plans and specs?
Yes. Send us drawings and specifications and we will provide a detailed bid. We also work as a concrete subcontractor to general contractors on Mid-Missouri projects.
How long before we can drive on a new commercial slab?
Generally about seven days for vehicle traffic, longer in cold weather or for heavy truck and dock loading. We build the cure window into the phasing plan so you know which areas are out of service and when.
Can you fix trip hazards in our sidewalk?
Yes, and it is common work. Depending on the panel we may be able to grind or lift it back into tolerance; if it has broken up or settled badly, cutting out and replacing the panel is the correct fix. We will tell you which one your situation actually needs.
Do you carry insurance?
Yes. We are a BBB Accredited Business and a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and we can provide current certificates of insurance for your records before work begins.
